You can’t keep a good woman down, especially when the woman is Clara Velasco. Not many of us could bounce back from a heart attack and other complications and look like MS. ENERGY. Clara’s 26 year history with Meals on Wheels rolls on. #LetsDoLunch
Look who our newest Meals on Wheels Star Couples are. Our delivery routes just got a big boost from Ledia & Art Miller, Jan and Tully Butler and Steve and Gay Jenkins. Like Sue and Roy Philp, Dotty and Gene Schulz and our other couple teams they are enjoying a project they can do together and make a big difference in the lives of others –They are DELIVERING THE DIFFERENCE. WAY TO GO!! Thank you! #LetsDoLunch
We had a great afternoon when members of the King’s Club came for their annual volunteer session with Nutrition and Services for Seniors. The King’s Club helps teens who will soon go into the work force learn life skills, write a resume and dress for and interview for jobs. By volunteering they learn and contribute to our community. Led by Community Coalition Leader Angie Day Boaz the club is sponsored by Westgate Memorial Baptist Church. Kudos to Ms. Boaz and the church for giving these extraordinary young people this opportunity. What a joy to have them with us.
It was a great day for Nutrition & Services for Seniors when Dr. Charlie Dyer (recently retired dentist) and Walter Simmons joined the Meals on Wheels Team. They each began by taking one route each week, Charlie in Beaumont and Walter in Groves. Within two short weeks both men called to say they enjoy it and want to do MORE. Now Charlies delivers on 3 days and Walter on 2 plus substituting when other volunteers are out. Volunteering to help others, the TWO-WAY blessing. Thank you Charlie and Walter.
Congratulations on a milestone and a big THANK YOU to John Willman. This summer marks his first anniversary for delivering Meals on Wheels. Don’t you know his clients enjoy this great smile and warm hello.
Thanks to this awesome TEAM our homebound neighbors will have shelf stable meals for weekends and in the event of an emergency!! Thank you ALL for your tremendous help!
These 49 fans and 3 AC units are going into homes where Nutrition & Services for Seniors Meals on Wheels clients are struggling to survive the brutal Southeast Texas summer. A big THANK YOU to our neighbor, Alorica - Beaumont, TX for sponsoring the fan drive, to our local Walmart Beaumont for making the fans available at a special price and to our community members who purchased the fans. Good things happen when caring people come together.
This beautiful ReMax Realtor doesn’t just sell property. She “Does Lunch” with Nutrition & Services for Seniors Meals on Wheels Clients. What a treat for our clients to have Trisha Blount deliver their lunch with the sunshine of her smile. She’s making a difference in a seniors’ life. Thank you, Trisha!!
Special thank you to Dawn, Lacy & Luke for volunteering with Nutrition & Services for Seniors! You are truly 'delivering a difference' to our homebound neighbors!!
