Congratulations to the Alpha Omega Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. on celebrating 85 years of sisterhood, scholarships and service in our community!! It is with grateful hearts that we thank you for awarding Nutrition & Services for Seniors with the community service program recognition at this years’ 110th Founders’ Day Celebration! Support from those like you in our community allow us to continue our mission to ‘deliver the difference’ in the lives of our homebound neighbors! We had a blast – thank you again for all you do to strengthen our community!!
We are thrilled to announce that the Maximus Foundation has awarded Nutrition & Services for Seniors a grant for all the ways we help the seniors and disabled adults in our community to remain at home, but not alone! Special thanks to the Maximus Foundation for recognizing our work to help and uplift our community!
What a Saturday Morning. An army of Lamar University Alumnae descended on Nutrition and Services for Seniors for their semi-annual service day and it was quite a day of service. The earth was actually moved in the garden, walls cleaned, butter and cheese cupped for the big Baked Potato Fundraiser, bread bagged for clients’ lunch, Halloween treats prepared for Meals on Wheels volunteers, Information packets assembled, etc., etc., etc. Our lean staff is always pushed for time and the magic done by 31 loving volunteers made a huge difference in our lives. Thank You, Cardinals. GO BIG RED. WE LOVE YOU!
No they don’t work for Wal-Mart. They VOLUNTEER for Nutrition & Services for Seniors so some of our Meals on Wheels clients can get their bag of groceries this month. Carla Allen and Sharon Dossier-Davis representing the Golden Triangle Chapter of Links, Inc. and Patsy Boyd, Amy Cramer and Dawn Dawson of our Meals on Wheels Delivery Team filled these 75 grocery bags in about one hour. What efficiency, what dedication. Hats off to you BEAUTIFUL LADIES!
How long does it take to individually package 1,200 rolls for our Meals on Wheels Clients’ lunches? Not long when these Ozen High School speedsters are on your team! The “good guys” in the white hats packaged the bread while other team members organized shelf stable meals.
Much like Nutrition & Services for Seniors, The Harbor Hospice Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for everyone they serve! Thank you to the Harbor Foundation for all you do to strengthen our community and for supporting our efforts to care for seniors and disabled adults throughout Jefferson & Hardin counties!
