What a Saturday Morning. An army of Lamar University Alumnae descended on Nutrition and Services for Seniors for their semi-annual service day and it was quite a day of service. The earth was actually moved in the garden, walls cleaned, butter and cheese cupped for the big Baked Potato Fundraiser, bread bagged for clients’ lunch, Halloween treats prepared for Meals on Wheels volunteers, Information packets assembled, etc., etc., etc. Our lean staff is always pushed for time and the magic done by 31 loving volunteers made a huge difference in our lives. Thank You, Cardinals. GO BIG RED. WE LOVE YOU!

No they don’t work for Wal-Mart. They VOLUNTEER for Nutrition & Services for Seniors so some of our Meals on Wheels clients can get their bag of groceries this month. Carla Allen and Sharon Dossier-Davis representing the Golden Triangle Chapter of Links, Inc. and Patsy Boyd, Amy Cramer and Dawn Dawson of our Meals on Wheels Delivery Team filled these 75 grocery bags in about one hour. What efficiency, what dedication. Hats off to you BEAUTIFUL LADIES!

How long does it take to individually package 1,200 rolls for our Meals on Wheels Clients’ lunches? Not long when these Ozen High School speedsters are on your team! The “good guys” in the white hats packaged the bread while other team members organized shelf stable meals.
