Our hearts soared when Allyson Lattimore from ExxonMobil arrived with her car full of warm blankets and other comfort items for our Meals on Wheels clients. These thoughtful gifts, arriving on a cold day, were collected by the Black Employee Success Team (BEST) of ExxonMobil. This loving support not only helps ensure our clients comfort but equally important makes them know their lives matter and others care about their well-being.
With great appreciation we salute the Monsignor Kelly Catholic High SchoolBulldogs for making Nutrition & Services for Seniors part of their Community Service Day. We look forward to this day every year when about 20 students and their adult sponsors bring their wonderful youthful energy into our agency ready to do any job we need done. As the photos show, they did many jobs. Stacks of old records were shredded, filing was done, 1300 shelf stable meals were assembled, our Seniors were served lunch in the Dining Center and Meals on Wheels were delivered on five routes. THANK YOU BULLDOGS! It was a GREAT Friday. #NoSeniorHungry#AmericaLetsDoLunch
With delight we welcome Donna Turner and Alexis Smith to our NSS Meals on Wheels Team. What a Saturday Morning. An army of Lamar University Alumnae descended on Nutrition and Services for Seniors for their semi-annual service day and it was quite a day of service. The earth was actually moved in the garden, walls cleaned, butter and cheese cupped for the big Baked Potato Fundraiser, bread bagged for clients’ lunch, Halloween treats prepared for Meals on Wheels volunteers, Information packets assembled, etc., etc., etc. Our lean staff is always pushed for time and the magic done by 31 loving volunteers made a huge difference in our lives. Thank You, Cardinals. GO BIG RED. WE LOVE YOU!
